1) How can I run the Graybox Desktop API setup on a Windows Vista/Windows 7?
There is a prerequisite that DEP should be disabled in Vista/Windows 7 for the Graybox
Desktop API applications, namely, Graybox Desktop Execution API and Graybox Desktop
Quotes API. The setup by default distributes these applications with DEP disabled.
For more information on how to disable the DEP setting, please refer the Help manual.
2) Do we need Graybox to be running for Graybox Desktop Execution API to run successfully?
Graybox Desktop Execution API must connect with the Graybox application in order
to send orders. So the answer is YES.
3) I want to add a new feature to the existing Graybox Desktop API applications.
Whom should i contact?
Any change or customization required for the Graybox Desktop API applications are
treated as business requests which require approvals to start with. The support
team does not engage in customization of the applications.
4) I don’t have Graybox installed on my machine. Can i still run the Graybox Desktop
API setup?
The setup detects for Graybox installation before proceeding. Certain run time components
are distributed as part of the Graybox setup, without which the Graybox Desktop
API applications won’t run successfully.
5) How can i install Graybox ?
Please go the http://support.hold.com/ and look for Graybox setup available for
download. After completing the download, run the setup.
6) I have created a customized API application by referring the given samples. Will
the support team assist me if i face any coding issues?
The samples are distributed to enable the user to understand how to write customized
application. If, however, the user is unable to create one, then the support team
would treat such a request as a business request and requires approvals to engage
in coding assistance.
7) How can i contact support team for any assistance i may require?
All issues pertaining to the Graybox Desktop API applications can be routed to the
support team by sending e-mail to supportAPI@hold.com
8) Does Graybox Support Excel?
Yes. The VBA Sample is based on Excel.
9) Does Graybox Support Quotes via API?
No. You need to use third party quotes provider.
10) Which version of MSOffice VBA Samples Support?
Microsoft Office 2007
11) How do I see VBA Sample Code In the Excel/VBA Sample?
Open the excel document, and enter ALT+F11. This brings up the Visual Basic development
Environment.
